    Nam Dinh - Nam Dinh Flag Tower (also known as Thanh Nam Monument) has historical significance, built in the early 19th century under the Nguyen Dynasty.

    Nam Dinh Flag Tower is one of the four oldest flag posts in the country, built in the early Nguyen Dynasty along with Hue Citadel Monument (1807), Hanoi Monument (1812) and Bac Ninh Citadel Monument (1838).

    The Nam Dinh Flag Tower is located in a campus of about 1,800m2, belonging to the Nam Dinh Provincial Museum, on To Hieu Street (Nam Dinh City). The project was recognized as a National Historical - Cultural Relic in 1962. According to documents archived at the Nam Dinh Provincial Museum, the Nam Dinh Flag Tower was started in 1812, and completed in 1843 . With the highest architecture of Thanh Nam at that time, the overall height of the flagpole was 23.84m.
