In recent days, due to the impact of storm No. 3 (super storm Yagi), many places in Bac Kan province have had prolonged heavy rain, causing landslides in many mountainous areas, damaging and sinking some traffic routes.

Ang Toong Pass, National Highway 3B, section through Tan Son Commune (Cho Moi) suffered serious landslides, making travel difficult and posing potential traffic safety risks.

On September 14, according to the reporter, in the area from Km 141 to Km 16 + 330, many areas of Ang Toong pass road had serious landslides, soil and boulders rolled down, lying in the middle of the path, some places the road surface collapsed, creating deep holes.

Measures such as ropes and warning signs are placed in many places to warn of landslide areas or areas at risk of landslides, ensuring safety for people passing by.

Nguyen Quang Huy (Bac Kan City) who regularly travels through Ang Toong Pass said: "This is the first time this pass has suffered such a serious landslide. When I travel here, especially in the evening, I am very scared and feel cold because I am worried about falling rocks and burying myself in the ground. I hope the authorities will soon have a plan to ensure the safety of traffic."

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Vice Chairman of Cho Moi District People's Committee said that currently, there are many landslides on Ang Toong Pass, caused by recent storms and rains.

"The difficulty now is the location of the dumping site for soil and rock. Currently, agencies at all levels are working on a plan to clean up the site to ensure safety for vehicles and people passing by," the district leader informed.
