The project to upgrade and expand Ba Trieu street (Thuan Hoa ward, Hue City) has a total investment of more than 541 billion VND, approved from 2022 and adjusted through many phases. This is one of the key infrastructure projects to reduce traffic pressure in the central area of Hue City.The current situation of the road is still inadequate, some sections do not have complete sidewalks, people have to take advantage of the road surface to park vehicles, posing a potential risk of traffic unsafety, especially during peak hours.According to the plan, the project will be implemented from March 8, 2026 and the completion time is February 1, 2027.Although the groundbreaking plan was set for March 8, by early April 2026, the construction site was still "silent", with no signs of construction, causing concern about the project progress.Many people's houses and business establishments handed over construction site for the project.The Project Management Board for Construction Investment Area 1 (the project investor) has repeatedly issued documents requesting the contractor consortium of package No. 14 to urgently deploy, but in reality there has been no activity at the site.The investor requested the contractor to construct no later than March 23rd and submit a plan to mobilize manpower and materials before March 24th, but these timelines were all ignored.The contractor gave the reason of scarcity and fluctuations in material prices to propose a temporary suspension, but the investor affirmed that there was no legal basis, and at the same time requested to continue to implement commitments.Recorded until early April 2026, the project has not been implemented, with the risk of seriously affecting the progress. The investor warned that sanctions will be applied, even contract termination if the delay situation is prolonged.It is known that the construction unit is a Joint Venture of package 14 - Ba Trieu including 501.1 One Member Limited Liability Company, SDC Electrical and Mechanical Construction and Trading Co., Ltd., Thai Binh Green Tree Construction Co., Ltd.
The project to upgrade and expand Ba Trieu street is invested by Area 1 Construction Investment Project Management Board, with a total capital of more than 541 billion VND.
According to the plan, the road is about 923m long, connecting from Le Quy Don - Duong Van An intersection to Hung Vuong - Nguyen Hue. After completion, the cross-section will reach 26m, with a road surface of 14m wide and sidewalks of 6m on each side. Including asphalt concrete roadbed, granite sidewalks, drainage system, underground electricity and LED lighting.
When completed, the project will contribute to reducing congestion, completing transport infrastructure and improving the urban appearance of central Hue.
To serve the project, nearly 24,000m2 of land has been recovered, affecting more than 181 households. Many households have agreed to hand over the site, creating favorable conditions for construction deployment.
