Hanoi has 66 flooded spots
According to the Center for Technical Infrastructure Management (Hanoi Department of Construction), by 8:00 a.m. on October 7, widespread heavy rain due to the circulation of storm No. 11 caused many inner-city and suburban areas to be partially flooded.
The total average rainfall recorded in the area was from 100 - 200mm, in which many places exceeded the warning threshold: O Cho Dua 251.3mm, Dai Mo 205.8mm, Vinh Thanh 274mm, Tu Liem 209.2mm.
Currently, the whole city has 66 flooded spots, mainly concentrated in the To Lich, Nhue and Long Bien basins, with flooding depths from 10 - 30cm. This situation corresponds to scenario 2 (rain below 100mm) and options 1 and 2 in the flood response plan of the Department of Construction.
The deeply flooded roads that obstructed traffic include: Huynh Thuc Khang, Bui Xuong Trach, Minh Khai, Le Duc Tho, Duong Dinh Nghe, Phan Van Truong, Quang Trung (Ha Dong), Vo Chi Cong, Co Linh, Ngoc Lam, Duc Giang, along with some sections on National Highway 3, National Highway 32 and provincial roads.

People struggle to move to work
