Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway, 104 km long, after nearly 3 years of mountain splitting and hill leveling construction, is now about to reach the finish line.
Recorded in the first days of May 2026, the entire Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway, 104km long, is like a large construction site with more than 150 construction fronts.Many road surface positions have been paved with grade 1 asphalt concrete, ensuring sufficient conditions for grade 2 asphalt concrete to complete the road surface structure.Taking advantage of favorable weather, contractors gather people and vehicles to speed up progress.At Km23+00 to Km26+638 and Yen Son intersection constructed by Cuong Thinh Construction Investment Group, asphalt paving for the road surface is expected to be completed in mid-May 2026.Ham Yen bridge over the Lo River was joined in early November 2025, and is currently in the completion phase. The bridge is 342.9m long, including 2 abutments and 6 pillars with 7 spans. This is the largest bridge out of a total of 22 bridges on the entire route.The intersection area with National Highway 37 is being completed with the road surface. When completed, this intersection will connect with My Lam tourist area, which is currently being synchronously invested with a mixed-use entertainment and resort complex.Indication items, ensuring traffic safety on the route are being installed.Some locations passing through hard rock terrain and complex structures have caused the construction time to be prolonged.Also with difficulties in site clearance, complex geological terrain has affected the project progress.According to the representative of the investor, more than 150 construction teams are currently maintained on the entire route with nearly 1,500 workers and engineers. The 27km section (belonging to the old Ha Giang area) has progressed more than 91%, and the remaining 77km section has progressed more than 62%. Construction work is continuously deployed, both day and night.It is expected that the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway will be completed and fully opened to traffic by the end of the third quarter of 2026.
2 sections of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway (phase 1) were started in May and October 2023 respectively with a length of 104km, total investment of 13,800 billion VND.
This project is added by the Prime Minister to the list of important national projects and key projects in the transport sector.
After completion, the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway will help increase traffic connectivity between Tuyen Quang province and neighboring areas. At the same time, it will promote socio-economic development in the Northern mountainous region.
