On October 2, at Foreign Trade University (Hanoi), Vietnam Education Publishing House officially introduced to readers the book "Journey from heritage to developing cultural industries in the creative economy". The work is the result of elaborate research by the school's lecturers and researchers, edited by Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Ngoc Quyen - Deputy Director of the Institute for Creative Research.
Accompanying Associate Professor, Dr. Ngoc Quyen are colleagues including Dr. Tran Thu Minh (Faculty of Chinese Language), Dr. Tran Thu Trang (Institute of Economics and International Business), MSc. Nguyen Thuy Duong, MSc. Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh and MSc. Vu Hoang Anh. The group of authors are all people with many years of research in the fields of culture, economics, management and creativity.

The book was born in the context that Vietnam is accelerating the process of transforming the growth model based on innovation, knowledge and exploiting indigenous cultural values. Cultural industry is considered a strategic direction, both having economic significance and affirming national identity.
However, the development practice in Vietnam still has many limitations, lacking specific models as well as effective connections between heritage, creativity and the market. Therefore, Journey from heritage to developing cultural industries in the creative economy contributes to filling this void, laying the foundation for deeper academic and practical research.
The work brings a systematic view of the relationship between cultural heritage, cultural industry and creative economy. From development trends in the world, the experiences of countries such as the UK, China, Korea, the US, to assessing the current situation and potential of Vietnam, the group of authors proposed many solutions to exploit heritage values associated with regional characteristics, making heritage a resource for sustainable development in the digital age.

Not only a useful reference for researchers, lecturers, and students, the book also emphasizes the central role of creative communities in transforming heritage from " static assets" to "mobile resources". This is also a practical suggestion for cultural managers, creative businesses and policy makers when developing a culture - tourism development strategy in Vietnam.
Sharing about the significance of the project, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Ngoc Quyen affirmed: "The journey from heritage to cultural creation industry will help each individual position themselves and the economy to always have new vitality".
The book launch ceremony attracted a large number of scholars, managers, students and those interested in the cultural industry. Thereby, the event spreads awareness of promoting heritage values as a creative resource, contributing to promoting sustainable socio-economic development.
