Showing Me in the Future is an initiative to call for the idea of writing childrens books, aiming to create content reflecting professional diversity, contributing to breaking down prejudices that hinder children in the process of self-discovery and pursuit of professional dreams a topic with many gaps in the current publishing and education ecosystem.
Accordingly, of the 268 ideas submitted to the program, 34% of the ideas came from children under 18 years old - a clear demonstration of the proactive participation and creative spirit of "child penneys". The remaining 66% come from adults (both professionals and amateur) - authors, illustrators, parents, educators, people interested in the topic of gender equality and children's education.
The creative ideas sent to the program not only demonstrate the diversity of jobs and professions in society in a familiar, friendly, and easy-to-understand way for children, but also bring new perspectives on familiar professions or introduce new professions, thereby contributing to spreading the understanding of children's equal rights in opportunities to access and orient their careers from a very young age.
In the context of gender models still deeply influencing children's career choices, these close and creative ideas open up space for them to nurture their passion, build faith in their abilities, and choose a future path without being limited by gender prejudice or living conditions.
The 5 best selected ideas will continue to develop the idea into a completed draft and publish the book series "Meet Me in the Future", expected to be released to readers in 2026.
On the occasion of launching the program "Meeting me in the future", in mid-May, a series of diverse activities were organized with strong attention and participation from the community, from seminars and satellite workshops on the topic "childhood's freedom to explore and choose a career"...
In addition, starting from June 29 to July 6, the exhibition "Meeting Me in the Future" at Kim Dong Publishing House (Hanoi) will introduce to the community 268 creative ideas sent to the program through creative and inspiring arrangements.
Kim Dong Publishing House will also organize a book reading session "Vang danh an ancient craft" at 10:00 a.m. on July 5 to introduce to young readers about traditional craft villages of Vietnam.
The program continues to create opportunities for young people to explore the quintessence of national culture converging in traditional occupations, bearing the characteristics of each region built and preserved by our ancestors over the centuries; as well as conveying the message of cultural preservation and promotion of cultural heritage towards a sustainable integration future.
