On June 29, in Duc Trong district, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee coordinated with relevant agencies to organize a groundbreaking ceremony for the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway Project.
The Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway Project is an important component of the Dau Giay (Dong Nai) - Lien Khuong (Lam Dong) Expressway.
This is also one of 10 national expressways in the Southern region approved by the Prime Minister in 2021.
The Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway is over 73km long, starting at Loc Phat Ward, Bao Loc City (Lam Dong), ending at the intersection with the Lien Khuong - Prenn Expressway in Hiep Thanh Commune, Duc Trong District. The Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway is designed with 4 lanes, with an operating speed of 80-100km/h.
The Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway is considered an important link in completing the Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway axis, over 200km long.
When put into operation, this route will improve connectivity, shorten travel time from Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat (Lam Dong) from 6am to 3am; increase transport capacity; reduce pressure on National Highway 20.
This expressway will be synchronized with the aviation infrastructure of Lam Dong province. Notable among them is Lien Khuong International Airport, which forms a modern transportation ecosystem.
This contributes to making Lam Dong a strategic transit center for the entire Southern Central Highlands - South Central Coast - Southeast.
Mr. Tran Hong Thai, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, said that Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway has a total investment of nearly VND18,000 billion, expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2027.
Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway is not only a traffic route but also a development road, a symbol of the consensus, determination and aspiration to rise up of the Party Committee, government and people of Lam Dong.
Each newly opened road is a newly opened horizon. Each completed project is a solid step forward on the journey to bring the country far and high, said Mr. Tran Hong Thai.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh said that the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway Project is the final piece, the strategic piece to complete the entire Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway.
From there, a backbone, smooth, modern traffic axis will be formed, connecting the key economic region in the South with the "capital" of the Central Highlands, Da Lat city.
The value of the project lies not only in its more than 73km but also in the fact that it unleashes potential for the entire strategic economic corridor of hundreds of kilometers, creating new growth momentum for the whole region, said Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh requested the current Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, as well as the new Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee (from July 1) to focus on directing investors and units to ensure the progress and quality of the Project.
Investors are the joint venture of T&T Group, Phuong Trang - FUTA GROUP Group and Phuong Thanh Company, which need to uphold their responsibility, focus all resources, organize construction with the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", "eating and sleeping urgently", "working in 3 shifts, 4 teams"... Thereby, completing the project within 30 months as committed.
