People are very excited to see the completion of Vam Cai Sut bridge in Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province. It is expected that Vam Cai Sut bridge will be inaugurated by the end of this year.
But unfortunately, this bridge cannot be exploited because it is a dead end. Dead end because there is no connecting road.
Building a bridge without a road to walk on, is the bridge just for "admiring"?
When implementing this project, the locality calculated that the bridge located on Huong Lo 2 route would contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality. This route has many large real estate projects in Long Hung commune, Bien Hoa city running along the Dong Nai river connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway.
But so far, the connection between the bridge and the road is at a standstill.
That means, when signing the approval for the implementation of the Vam Cai Sut bridge project, those responsible did not consider the connection to the road, or did not consider it. A basic knowledge that everyone can understand and know is that a bridge must have a road, let's call it a traffic system, a bridge without a road cannot be exploited.
According to Mr. Ngo The An - Director of the Dong Nai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, all three projects of Bien Hoa City Central Axis Road, Huong Lo 2 and Vam Cai Sut Bridge are scheduled to be implemented from 2020-2024. If they are not completed in 2024, the project must be adjusted and the implementation period extended, prolonging the construction period.
Spending 2,670 billion VND to invest in 3 traffic projects, including two projects Huong Lo 2 and Vam Cai Sut bridge, which are interconnected but have fallen into a dead end. A huge amount of money is "exposed" in the open.
Even if the Vam Cai Sut bridge is completed but there is no connecting road, it cannot be exploited because Huong Lo 2 route is not completed.
It is time for Dong Nai province's leaders to have drastic solutions to completely resolve problems related to traffic connection on the entire Huong Lo 2 route and effectively exploit the Vam Cai Sut bridge.
Fighting waste is no longer a matter of slogans but of taking action, which is to complete projects that have been "shelved" for a long time.
