Previously, some localities " lay the red carpet" to attract human resources, such as spending 100 million VND to invite young teachers to teach, but that initiative was not a way to convince many people. Because spending 100 million VND or more is only one time. Teachers returning to settle down and stay in school for a long time need to have a stable income to work with peace of mind.
Good news for teachers, from January 1, 2026 - the time the Law on Teachers takes effect, teachers' salaries will be prioritized to be ranked highest in the administrative sector. The basic salary of all teachers is expected to increase, increasing by at least about 2 million VND, the maximum can be up to 5 - 7 million VND/person/month.
Additional allowances are only calculated at the basic salary, not including other allowances. The Law on Teachers also stipulates that teachers working in mountainous areas, islands, border areas, ethnic minority areas and areas with special difficulties are entitled to salary and preferential allowances higher than normal.
This preferential policy will create motivation and confidence for young teachers to be ready to go to remote areas, to contribute to the profession. The pedagogical industry will attract young people because the teaching profession is interested, education is truly a "land" seen from the lives of teachers.
However, in addition to salary, another practical need is a place to live. Nowadays, teachers not only need a place to stay, but also have the opportunity to work with computers and smart devices, exploit the application of technology, serve their profession, and connect with the social community in cyberspace. Not to mention, for teachers teaching English and IT subjects, the internet and wifi are support tools for research and teaching. Without these conditions, it is impossible to teach students with good results.
Taking care of a place to live and work is the responsibility of local authorities. To attract teachers, we must create a "resident and enterprise" environment, good working conditions, and not have to spend tens to hundreds of millions to invite teachers.
Therefore, in addition to the general policy, localities must compete to attract young teachers who are good at their profession in service. In addition to teachers, schools have the right to invite artists, coaches, and athletes to participate in educational activities in high schools.
Local leaders want to improve the quality of teaching and learning for their children, so they will think of ways to retain and recruit teachers.
