People often think of happiness as an emotional state. True, but not enough. In Psychology, happiness is viewed through 2 layers. One is the feeling of being comfortable, happy, and relieved in the present. Two is the feeling of having goals, having value in life, to understand where you are going and for what.
Looking at specific stories, it can be seen that happiness is not far away. Like the story of Hoang Hen being called up to the national team for the first time. That is the result of high performance in the V.League, of the desire to contribute and the waiting for many years to express love for Vietnam.
Also in that way, Bodo/Glimt's journey in the Champions League or Thanh Hoa club's lifting of the transfer ban are not just events. For them, happiness comes after experiences, "struggles" in the circumstances they go through. Not because they like hardship, but because they understand what they have fought for.
When Karl Marx told his daughter "happiness is struggle", it was not an encouragement for the harsh path, but a way to point out the nature. Humans are born not to be content, but to create value and change their circumstances. Happiness is not a static state. Its struggle creates meaning and always has a certain price. Not "free".
There are short-term happinesses, coming from a kind word, a moment of sharing. But there are also longer happinesses, accumulated from what people persistently pursue, although not always easy.
Today (March 20) is International Day of Happiness. It is both a milestone and a message, it's not that we don't have happiness, but sometimes we don't take the time to feel it. So, try to spend some time searching, rummaging, to remember how "happy" we have been on the path of life, contributing a little to the National Happiness Index...
