Election is the most centralized expression of the people's right to mastery. In the socialist rule-of-law state, the people are not only the subjects of power but also directly empowered through the selection of people worthy of representing them in the highest state power agency and in local authorities. Votes are therefore also a sending of faith, a voice of each citizen in the common destiny of the country.
This election takes place in a special context. After 40 years of renovation, our country has achieved great achievements of historical significance in all fields of socio-economic life. In that flow, each term of the National Assembly and People's Councils leaves its mark with important policies, contributing to building institutions, perfecting policies, and promoting development.
The election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term takes place immediately after the 14th National Party Congress. This is the time when the entire political system is urgently concretizing the resolutions of the Congress into practice. The selection of delegates who are full of heart, scope, and prestige to shoulder the responsibility before the People is of decisive significance for realizing the aspiration to develop the country in the new period.
The role of elected representatives becomes even more important. They are not only people who participate in deciding major issues of the nation and locality, but also bridges between the Party, the State and the People; are people who listen and truthfully reflect the thoughts and aspirations of voters; are people who supervise the exercise of power, ensuring that all decisions are directed towards the interests of the People.
From the early days of March, in all regions, from urban to rural, from mountainous to island, the atmosphere of preparation for election day is always bustling, serious and responsible. Voters learn about the candidate's action program, follow contacts, listen to commitments and consider and choose for themselves.
Deeper down, election day is also an opportunity to consolidate and affirm the spirit of great national unity. The tradition of "Party's will, people's hearts" is vividly expressed. That spirit of great unity is even more meaningful when the country enters a new stage of development with many intertwined opportunities and challenges. Digital transformation, green transformation, deep international integration, institutional reform, streamlining the apparatus... all require high political determination and the joint efforts and consensus of the entire people.
Election day will become a festival of will, belief and aspiration for development. In consensus, solidarity and responsibility, creating the most valuable internal resources for Vietnam to firmly step into a new era of development.
