The event is even more meaningful as the bustling atmosphere of the Great National Unity Festival spreads throughout the villages and residential areas and the day to honor teachers - Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20 is approaching.
In border areas, schools are not simply places to teach literacy. For teachers and students here, it is a support, a second home amidst countless difficulties. A solid classroom, a warm meal, a sheltered room... is a dream that has lasted for many years.
The construction of 248 inter-level boarding schools according to the Politburo's policy has realized that wish.
For students in border areas, boarding schools not only help them study continuously, avoiding having to walk dozens of kilometers every day, but also bring a safe and equal learning environment, where knowledge becomes a bridge to bring them out of the vicious cycle of poverty.
As for teachers, the spacious boarding schools that are about to grow will be the "big home" for both teachers and students. Teachers have stable accommodation, long-term work security; there are enough classrooms, boarding areas, sports areas, library rooms, laboratories... so that they can teach, create and contribute properly.
From the new classes that will be applied in Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai to Nghe An, An Giang... tens of thousands of ethnic minority students will study in a better environment, have enough to eat, wear warm clothes, study fully and most importantly, and be nurtured in a sense of pride and responsibility for their homeland.
Teachers can rest assured to stick with the class, students can study with peace of mind, creating a foundation for sustainable development. And above all, it is a vivid testament to General Secretary To Lam's viewpoint: "This is a project of the people's heart, for the future of our children".
The investment policy for inter-level boarding schools is not only strategic, but also demonstrates the spirit of "for the people, by the people". Thousands of households in the border area have voluntarily contributed working days and materials to the project. These educational works are not only products of the State budget but are the crystallization of the people's hearts, the Party's will, and the spirit of "the whole country towards the border".
