The Department of Health of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City has just held a ceremony to launch a peak campaign to inspect, handle and monitor unlicensed and illegal cosmetic establishments in the area. This peak campaign will last until December 31, 2024.
District 1 is home to many beauty salons and spas that are only allowed to provide non-invasive cosmetic services, but they still illegally perform invasive techniques such as filler injections and liposuction, causing complications for customers in recent times.
It is worth mentioning that beauty salons and spas illegally perform invasive techniques that cause complications for customers, even death, and then defraud customers, not only in District 1 but in all districts of Ho Chi Minh City. And not only in Ho Chi Minh City but in almost all provinces and cities in the country.
These illegal, fraudulent cosmetic facilities have recently caused public outrage and seriously affected the image of the medical industry because they have caused countless people to literally "lose money and suffer".
While local authorities have made great efforts to intervene, it seems that these illegal spas and beauty salons keep popping up as soon as one end is cut off.
Therefore, the Health Department of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City has just organized a ceremony to launch a peak campaign to check, handle and monitor, which is a necessary intervention. However, peak campaigns, in the end, are only temporary solutions to cut off the tip. The root is still regular and strict inspection and monitoring, along with effective management solutions.
For a beauty salon or spa to operate successfully, there must be at least three factors. First is the people’s mentality of disregarding beauty. Second is the lax management and supervision of the authorities. And third is the lack of ethics of doctors.
Speaking of medical ethics, at the launching ceremony of the peak campaign, Mr. Nguyen Nguyet Cau - Head of the Health Department of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City said that he was asking the Tan Dinh Ward Police to search for a doctor at a dental clinic on Tran Quang Khai Street who took off his blouse, ran to the rooftop and jumped to the house next door to escape when he saw the inspection team.
Of course, a real doctor who practices honestly and fairly would not take off his coat to climb to the rooftop to escape from the authorities like that.
And the image of the doctor taking off his blouse to escape to the rooftop is a very expensive, very cinematic detail, summarizing not only the current state of operations of underground cosmetic facilities but also an alarm about the medical ethics of a part of doctors today!
