Over the past two years, many students have been studying for a second degree in English at the University of Business and Technology with very high tuition fees, totaling up to 47.5 million VND. For two second degree classes at the school’s Nguyen Duc Canh campus, the total amount collected according to the student list is nearly 4 billion VND.
University of Business and Technology enrolls students, Vice Principal Vu Van Hoa signs the Decision to recognize the entrance results of the VB2 bachelor class, the Training Management Department and the English Department B are assigned to manage and train. During the learning process, the school's teachers participate in teaching and guiding, how can students not trust them?
But after finishing the second English course, the student was suddenly informed by the school that this class did not exist, to put it simply, it was an unofficial class.
The school's response is that the organization of training for these VB2 classes is personally organized by Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Ha, Deputy Head of English B Department of the school and does not represent the school.
There is something unacceptable, that is the document dated March 16, 2022 of Hanoi University of Business and Technology signed and sealed by Vice Principal Vu Van Hoa, acknowledging the results of the entrance exam for this VB2 bachelor's class. The school issued such a public document, how could the principal not know?
Saying that we do not know about this training course is absurd, because there is an organization recruiting students, collecting money, and there are lecturers from the school participating in the training. In this case, there are hidden and ambiguous things that need to be clarified.
Not to mention, the full-course transcripts given to students were signed by a Deputy Head of the Training Management Department, the list of exam scores for the VB2.12 class was signed by Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Ha and the VB2.13 class was signed by Mr. Vu Van Hoa. These people have titles in the school, but are all considered not to represent the school and are not recognized, even though the documents have the school's seal.
Then, another problem will arise, which is that there are signs of a VB2 training scam in Hanoi University of Business and Technology. Because, a group organizes enrollment, collects money, but it is an unofficial activity. Students are left empty-handed because they do not have a bachelor's degree in English as promised.
For such an incident to happen, Hanoi University of Business and Technology cannot deny taking the responsibillity.
