From the story of Ba Ria-Vung Tau warning officials addicted to playing pickleball

Lê Thanh Phong |

The Standing Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee reminded officials not to let the pickleball practice trend affect their work.

On November 22, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee sent a document to units on rectifying and strengthening administrative discipline and order; innovating and streamlining the apparatus for effective and efficient operation; preventing corruption, waste and negativity.

Accordingly, it is strictly forbidden to use time, means, and public assets in violation of regulations; and not to let participation in pickleball practice trends and recreational activities, festivals, etc. affect the progress and quality of assigned work.

Don't let the pickleball trend affect your work. To be blunt, don't play too much, and don't play during working hours.

To put it bluntly, everyone has the right to play sports like golf, soccer, table tennis, jogging, pickleball... and should be encouraged to play, because it improves health and healthy living.

Outside of work, everyone has the right to play sports or participate in other physical activities according to their interests and conditions. Any sport is effective in improving health and creating a healthy lifestyle.

However, one should not let excessive passion for a trendy sport affect their work, especially not using public property for personal purposes.

Not only in pickleball but in all sports, there must be fairness in work and play. You have the right to play, but you must not steal work time, and you must definitely complete the assigned tasks.

In addition to playing sports, other activities also affect work. There must be regulations to control cadres, civil servants, and public employees from drinking alcohol, hanging out, reading newspapers, playing games, chatting, and surfing Facebook during working hours. These "evil" behaviors exist in state agencies and are worse than stealing sports time.

Therefore, strengthening discipline and administrative order not only corrects visible trends like pickleball, but also eliminates those who steal official time in agencies. That is a reality, happening every day, every hour, and is a huge waste.

Many people pretend to work, pretend to receive a salary, live off of government agencies, and cut corners, but mainly work for private gain. That is the chaos that needs to be controlled, pickleball is not worth anything.
