On the evening of September 12, Mr. Tran Kiem Hao - Director of Hue City Department of Health said that medical facilities had received 184 cases suspected of food poisoning occurring at Scavi Hue Company.
In which, Hue Central Hospital facility 2 received 165 cases, Phong Dien Medical Center received 19 cases.
The workers were hospitalized with symptoms of fever, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and loose stools. Through examination, many cases showed symptoms of acute gastroenteritis, suspected of being related to the food poisoning incident.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) - Hue City Department of Health coordinated with relevant units to conduct epidemiological investigations, take food and specimens to determine the cause.
Faced with the increasing number of workers with suspected poisoning symptoms, the health sector requests medical facilities to proactively mobilize human resources, medicines and equipment to receive, classify, and treat patients, especially paying attention to cases with severe symptoms.
According to Mr. Tran Kiem Hao, the good news is that by the evening of the same day, 7 patients had stabilized their health and were discharged from the hospital to go home for continued monitoring.
