On September 13, Hue City Department of Health said that it had requested the suspension of the food service business of Hue Thanh MTV Co., Ltd. at the collective kitchen of Scavi Hue Company, which provides meals for employees.
This move was made after the incident of hundreds of workers of Scavi Hue Company suspected of food poisoning.
As of the morning of September 13, medical facilities have received 196 cases of suspected food poisoning related to Scavi Hue Company.
In which, leaders of Hue Central Hospital facility 2 confirmed that as of 9 am on September 13, the unit alone is receiving and treating 177 cases; 20 people have been discharged from the hospital and returned home to continue monitoring.
Previously, Hue City Department of Health had issued a certificate of food safety eligibility to Hue Thanh One Member Limited Liability Company to operate food services at Scavi Hue Company's kitchen, located in Phong Dien Industrial Park, Phong Dien ward.
According to the official dispatch signed by Director of Hue City Department of Health Tran Kiem Hao on September 12, the suspension is implemented for the food service business activities that Hue Thanh One Member Limited Liability Company provides to the collective kitchen at Scavi Hue Company.
During the time the kitchen was suspended, the Department of Health requested Scavi Hue Company to have a plan to ensure meals for employees in accordance with food safety regulations.
Phong Dien Ward People's Committee is requested to coordinate with the Department of Health and relevant units to supervise the compliance with the suspension decision.
Previously, at about 10 am on September 11, a suspected food poisoning incident occurred at Scavi Hue Textile Company. At about 3 pm on the same day, dozens of workers with abnormal signs were taken to Hue Central Hospital, facility 2 for emergency treatment.
The case is being further clarified by functional agencies to clarify the cause.
