Victim H.T.N, 11 years old, Tay ethnic group, currently being treated at the Pediatric Center (Bach Mai Hospital) is still on a ventilator, with a serious prognosis.
The patient had pneumonia, crush syndrome, complex multiple injuries, and even choking on water. The nurses performed gastric lavage on the patient, and there was a lot of mud. The patient's health condition is currently very serious, so the prognosis is not yet known.
In the flash flood that occurred in Lang Nu village, 4 members of the patient's family including his grandmother, aunt and two children died. The patient's parents were construction workers in Hanoi, and his brother was at school so he escaped.
Another victim, H.V.V, 31 years old, Tay ethnic group, is still in very serious condition. The patient has not improved since the time of admission. Bronchial fluid suction has cleared all stones and mud, however, the patient is still in intensive care due to the severe trauma caused by the flash flood.
Currently, the patient is being sedated, muscle relaxants, ECMO to support breathing and circulation, continuous blood filtration combined with hemofiltration, optimal broad-spectrum antibiotics, bronchial lavage endoscopy, blood product transfusion... but the current condition is still very severe multiple organ failure, with a high risk of death.

The flash flood that occurred on the morning of September 10 in Lang Nu village buried everything. The entire village, which used to have 37 stilt houses next to the fields, now has only a pile of mud left.
On September 10, Bao Yen General Hospital received 18 patients from the devastating flash flood that occurred in Lang Nu village. Of these, 2 patients are in critical condition, requiring ventilators, while many others have broken bones, internal injuries, and severe skin damage. Worryingly, most of the patients are in a state of psychological trauma due to the natural disaster.
Viet Duc Friendship Hospital also received a young male patient from the landslide in Lao Cai in a state of multiple injuries. The male patient residing in Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province was swept away by a landslide and was taken to Bao Yen Hospital for emergency treatment. The patient was then transferred to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. The patient was admitted to the hospital in a state of multiple injuries: traumatic brain injury, chest injury, closed abdominal injury, vascular injury, left popliteal vein injury, complex fracture of the upper third of the two bones of the left tibia.
Viet Duc Friendship Hospital also sent medical staff to support medical facilities in Lao Cai province. Doctors went to Bao Yen District General Hospital and Bao Thang District General Hospital, Lao Cai province.
