1. Sausage
Due to its high fat content, eating sausage for breakfast can cause bloating and indigestion. Therefore, this is not a suitable breakfast before exercise.
Also, sausages are low in carbohydrates (carbs) which can leave you lacking energy for your workout. Eat breakfast foods that are higher in carbs and stay away from fatty foods like sausages.
2. Bacon
Like hot dogs, bacon is high in fat and can leave you feeling sluggish before a workout. According to Livestrong, 2 slices of fried bacon contain 8 grams of fat and 0 grams of carbs.
While the salt in bacon can help replenish your body's electrolytes during hot, sweaty workouts, you'll also have to contend with indigestion and lack of energy during your workout.
3. Croissants and pastries
For some, croissants and pastries are a quick and convenient breakfast staple. However, these foods are high in fat - a good reason to avoid them, especially before a morning workout.
Although they contain carbs, the carbs in cakes are usually fast-metabolizing carbs that will make you feel full and hungry quickly. Cakes are also often lacking in nutrients and do not contribute much to the body's nutritional needs.
Replace pastries with healthier breakfast options like oatmeal, chicken breast salad... before your workout.
