According to dermatologists, the cause is often due to caring mistakes that many people accidentally make.
1. Overuse of acne treatment products
Many people believe that the more acne treatment products are used, the faster the effectiveness will be. In fact, combining too many strong active ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, retinol or AHA/BHA at the same time can cause irritation, disrupt the skin's protective barrier, and worsen acne. The important thing is to choose the right product, take the right dosage and be patient, says Dr. Shereene Idriss ( Dermatology, New York).
2. Focus on external treatment only
Acne is not only caused by environmental factors but is also affected by hormones, diet, stress and sleep. If you only apply ice cream but ignore lifestyle adjustments, the effectiveness of treating acne will be difficult to last. Studies published in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology show that diets rich in sugar and processed foods can stimulate inflammation and increase the risk of acne.
3. Improperly shaping acne
Shaping acne at home, especially when your hands are not clean, can easily cause bacteria to penetrate deeper, causing inflammation and leaving scars. Even with ripe acne, molds that are too strong can damage surrounding skin tissue. Experts recommend letting acne heal on its own or going to a reputable medical facility to remove acne seeds according to the sterility procedure.
Advice:
Be patient with a treatment of at least 68 weeks before changing products.
Combine a healthy diet, reduce sugar and milk.
Get enough sleep and manage stress to limit acne outbreaks.
