According to Dr. Venkatesh Movva, expert in regenerative medicine and sports and founder of RegenOrthoSport (Hyderabad - India), rheumatoid arthritis (VKDT) is an autoimmune disease that mainly affects joints, causing inflammation, pain and stiffness.
The disease progresses through many stages, each stage has different characteristics and level of damage. Here are the 4 basic stages of rheumatoid arthritis.
Phase 1
During this stage, inflammation begins to appear in the joints, usually in small joints such as the hands, wrists or the joints of the toes.
Symptoms include swelling, pain, and stiffness, especially in the morning. However, during this period, there is no major damage to the tissues around the joint and there is no deformation.
Phase 2
Inflammation becomes more severe and can spread to many joints.
Symptoms of pain, swelling, stiffness increase, accompanied by fatigue, mild fever. law enforcement has issued a notice of changes in the joint's functional lines.
Phase 3
Prolonged inflammation leads to serious damage to joints, including the destruction of cartilage and bones.
Joint disorders can be deformed and daily activities become more difficult due to stiffness and pain. During this stage, inflammation and joint destruction become permanent if not treated promptly.
Phase 4
This is the final stage of the disease, when the joints have been severely damaged, causing significantly reduced joint function.
Patients may be disabled and have lost mobility of affected joints. Although the disease can be partly controlled with medicine, permanent joint damage can cause great difficulties in daily activities.
Note
Dr. Venkatesh Movva said that rheumatoid arthritis can seriously affect the quality of life if not treated promptly. Early detection and proper treatment can help control the disease and prevent long-term damage to joints.
