On the afternoon of March 4, in Hanoi, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man chaired a meeting on the results of work in February, key tasks for March and the following months of 2025 of the National Assembly agencies and the National Assembly Office.
In his concluding remarks, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that the arrangement and streamlining of the National Assembly's apparatus has been basically completed. The remaining work will continue to be carried out in a concise and efficient manner.
Emphasizing the need to streamline the apparatus of the political system as a major revolution, the National Assembly Chairman said that the tasks that the National Assembly, Party agencies, the Government, and localities have recently completed are very large, but there is still a lot of work to be done in the coming time.
In March and the following months of 2025, the National Assembly Chairman requested that the National Assembly agencies continue to make efforts, join hands, unite, promote experience, the spirit of urgent and responsible work as in the past to successfully complete assigned tasks.
The National Assembly Chairman suggested that Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh direct the Standing Committee of the Law and Justice Committee to study and amend a number of articles of the Constitution related to the issue of organizing the apparatus of the political system;
Study and propose amendments to a number of related laws and resolutions in accordance with the conclusions of the Politburo;
Coordinate with Government agencies to study and propose specific amendments and supplements to legal documents related to the reorganization of the apparatus that must be handled immediately, with specific characteristics, without handling them according to the general principles of legal documents issued by the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee before.
The National Assembly Chairman requested Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai to direct the Standing Committee of the Economic and Financial Committee to urgently coordinate with Government agencies to review and study the amendment of the Law on Planning, report to the Politburo, and complete it by June 30, 2025 at the latest.
Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh directed agencies to advise on the development of a plan to summarize the National Assembly term, the National Assembly Standing Committee, and the agencies of the National Assembly; advise, develop, and complete the Election Orientation Project to submit to the Politburo for comments in August 2025.
The Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly directed the agencies of the National Assembly to coordinate with the agencies of the Government: thoroughly grasp and implement the Laws and Resolutions passed by the National Assembly at the 9th Extraordinary Session;
Review the overall plan to issue detailed guidance documents on the laws and resolutions that have been passed.
"We give the Government very strong authority, and to localities, we must strengthen supervision and urging. The two sides will coordinate closely to ensure effective implementation of laws and resolutions" - the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
The National Assembly Chairman especially noted that the Ethnic Council, National Assembly agencies, and the National Assembly Office continue to strongly innovate the legislative process, in the spirit of "fully functioning, fully knowledgeable";
