1. Change to healthy eating habits
An unhealthy diet is one of the main causes of acne. Eating a lot of greasy foods, junk food or foods with a high glycemic index can make acne worse.
Dietary advice:
Increase fruits and vegetables.
Add vitamins A and D to your daily diet.
Foods rich in probiotics and whole grains may help improve skin health.
Avoid chocolate, cheese and ice cream as they can aggravate acne.
Maintaining a low glycemic index diet is essential when treating acne.
2. Avoid wearing tight/irritating clothing
Wearing clothes that are too tight, especially synthetic fabrics like polyester, can make it difficult for your skin to "breathe", and sweat cannot escape, leading to clogged pores and acne. Therefore, choosing loose, breathable clothes, especially when exercising or playing sports, is important in preventing acne. You should prioritize natural materials like cotton, silk or bamboo fiber to help absorb sweat better and be more breathable.
3. Shower immediately after exercise
After exercising, sweat can build up on your skin and clog pores, causing acne. Therefore, it is important to shower immediately after a workout. Using an oil-free, non-irritating body wash to remove dirt and sweat from your skin will help reduce back acne.
4. Wash bed sheets regularly
Bed sheets are a breeding ground for bacteria, oil, and dead skin cells, which can lead to body acne, so it's important to wash your sheets regularly.
A helpful tip is to use sheets made from bamboo or eucalyptus, which are breathable, absorbent, and hypoallergenic. Change your sheets at least once a week to eliminate bacteria buildup.
5. Exfoliate your back
Removing dead skin cells helps unclog pores and remove acne-causing agents. You can use a chemical or physical exfoliant to care for this area.
Using products containing glycolic or salicylic acid helps remove dead skin cells without side effects. Or using physical exfoliation such as using a specialized body brush is also a way to prevent and remove back acne.
If you have severe back acne, be careful with this method to avoid making the acne worse.
