A diet rich in green vegetables, especially those containing antioxidants and sulfur compounds, helps the liver work more effectively in the detoxification process, says Dr Nigel Stevenson, a nutritionist at Queens Belfast University (UK).
Here are 5 types of vegetables that are both good for the liver and easy to grow in the garden or even on the balcony:
Gotu kola
Famous in traditional medicine for its liver cooling and diuretic properties. Drinking gotu kola smoothie regularly helps purify the body and lower blood pressure slightly.
Kale
Rich in chlorophyll and fiber, which help remove toxins from the blood, while supporting the liver in metabolism.
Coriander ( goingose)
According to many studies, compounds in coriander help eliminate heavy metals, which are a big burden on the liver.
Green cabbage
Contains sulforaphane, a powerful antioxidant, which supports the liver in fighting inflammation and preventing fatty liver.
A bowl
Not only is perilla a familiar spice, it also helps reduce blood fat and supports the detoxification process.
These vegetables can all be sown with nuts, take less care and harvest quickly. More importantly, including them in your daily menu is a simple, cheap but effective way to protect liver leaves.
As Dr. Stevenson emphasizes: Gan has great resilience, and green vegetables are a natural ally that makes that process happen faster.
