According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tuyen Quang province, as of July 31, the locality recorded 82 communes with African swine fever, the number of pigs destroyed was 25,634 from 2,081 households in 683 villages.
Since the outbreak of African swine fever in 2019, this is the year of the largest recurrence and spread of the epidemic.
According to the authorities, the epidemic is still complicated, continuing to spread rapidly, strongly and widely.

The characteristics of the virus that causes African swine fever are that it can survive long in the environment. The transmission route is very complicated and in fact, pig farming in the province has a great chance of the epidemic continuing to spread to other communes.
Currently, localities have distributed 5,201 liters of chemicals and 53,304 kg of lime powder to instruct farmers on spraying disinfectants for livestock barns.
Faced with complicated developments and widespread outbreaks, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang province issued an urgent telegram directing relevant departments, branches, localities and units to synchronously and drastically deploy solutions for disease prevention and control.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of communes and wards to mobilize the entire grassroots political system, increase widespread propaganda to each household, especially livestock households, about dangerous properties, spread mechanisms and measures to prevent and control epidemics. Establish quick response teams, statistical teams, verify damage; destruction teams, ensure timely and correct epidemic suppression.
Communes and wards should review and fully count pigs, regularly monitor and promptly report on the development of the epidemic. Organize cleaning and disinfection of barns and surrounding environment; proactively arrange funding and materials for epidemic prevention and control. Cases of negligence and lack of responsibility for the epidemic spreading widely will be strictly handled according to regulations.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is responsible for coordinating with relevant units to increase forces to closely monitor the facilities, guide people to safely raise livestock, and use vaccines to prevent diseases effectively. At the same time, monitor and supervise the epidemic; collect samples for testing, thoroughly handle the outbreak and propose support from the national reserve when necessary.
The Provincial Police, the Department of Industry and Trade, and the Provincial Military Command closely coordinate with local authorities to inspect, prevent, and strictly handle acts of trading and transporting pigs and pig products that do not ensure disease prevention conditions.
