The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee has just requested localities to be determined and synchronously deploy solutions to prevent and control African swine fever (DTLCP).

In the face of the widespread African swine fever trend, seriously affecting the livestock industry, food supply and the environment, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh signed and issued a telegram requesting departments, branches, sectors and People's Committees of communes and wards to proactively and resolutely direct the synchronous implementation of solutions for disease prevention and control.

Key tasks include: promptly detecting and thoroughly handling outbreaks; limiting new outbreaks; resolutely destroying sick and suspected sick pigs according to regulations; fully implementing support policies for damaged pig farmers; strictly handling acts of dumping pigs, transporting and trading sick pigs that cause epidemics and environmental pollution.

In addition, localities need to instruct people to strictly implement hygiene and disease prevention measures; build facilities and areas for disease-free livestock farming; isolate and completely handle outbreaks from the beginning; strictly handle cases of covering up epidemics and slow reporting.

The Hanoi People's Committee requests to strengthen the management of the transportation and trading of pigs and pig products; strictly control the slaughter of animals. At the same time, step up propaganda about the level of danger, risk of spread and recurrence of the epidemic and instruct people to use DTLCP vaccine.
