On July 1st, Ho Chi Minh City Mental Hospital facility 4 (Phu Tho neighborhood, Binh Duong ward, Ho Chi Minh City) officially went into operation.
On the first day of operation, a team of doctors and nurses was fully arranged to be present. The hospital performs outpatient examination and treatment and inpatient treatment.
Here, after completing the procedures, the patient is taken to the examination area for doctors to examine, assess the health status and develop a treatment regimen. At the same time, determine whether the patient is being treated as an outpatient or kept for inpatient treatment.
Patients' families said that the hospital facility going into operation creates a lot of convenience for people. Previously, it was necessary to travel about 30-50 km to go to the center of Ho Chi Minh City or to Dong Nai city for treatment. Now people only travel a distance of 10-25 km.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that in the initial phase, there will be 48 medical staff arranged to work at facility 4, including doctors, nurses, technicians and support staff. In particular, there are 13 experienced psychiatrists directly involved in medical examination, treatment and patient management at this facility.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that the hospital facility was previously invested and built by Binh Duong province with a total investment of about 240 billion VND. The project was completed in 2018, but due to many reasons, it could not be put into operation.
After Binh Duong merged into Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health surveyed and worked with the Binh Duong Construction Investment Project Management Board to discuss a plan to repair this facility. Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also directed the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance to allocate funds to renovate this hospital to put it into operation in 2026. The facility was assigned to the Ho Chi Minh City Mental Hospital to take over and repair. In a short time, the Ho Chi Minh City Mental Hospital repaired the facility and arranged doctors to put into operation phase 1 of the hospital.
