The term of office is 5 years.
Doctor Pham Thanh Viet, born in 1971, from An Giang, has a professional qualification as a specialist doctor level II, and graduated as a general practitioner at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1997.
Before being appointed Director of Cho Ray Hospital, Dr. Pham Thanh Viet was Head of the General Planning Department and also in charge of the Medical Equipment Department.
In March 2024, Mr. Pham Thanh Viet was appointed Deputy Director of Cho Ray Hospital. By August 2025, he was appointed Deputy Director in charge of managing and operating the hospital.
Cho Ray Hospital is a special-class hospital under the Ministry of Health, responsible for medical examination and treatment, training and scientific research. In addition, with its role as a final-line hospital, Cho Ray also supports treatment for hospitals in the Southern region.
