In order to implement Project 06 on the national digital transformation program and towards the goal of public health insurance, the hospital's Social Work Department has connected with a unit capable of supporting health insurance purchases nationwide.
In cases where patients are hospitalized without health insurance, departments and rooms will proactively guide relatives to the Social Work Department for advice and support in health insurance purchase procedures.
In case the patient is being treated as a resident in difficult circumstances, the clinical department will submit a report on helping with hospital fees so that the Social Work Department can buy health insurance for the patient from the source of donors.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, MSc. Le Minh Hien - Head of Social Work Department of Cho Ray Hospital said that this is the first hospital in the country to implement a program to support the purchase of health insurance cards for patients and relatives nationwide.
Cho Ray Hospital is the final line specializing in treating severe cases, mainly patients transferred from other provinces, in which there are many difficult cases. There are patients who are hospitalized in serious condition but due to difficult circumstances cannot buy health insurance, leading to burden in treatment or inability to pay.
In fact, there are patients who have to pay up to billions of VND or are in the resuscitation department with hospital fees that can be up to 7-8 million VND/day but do not have health insurance.
Supporting the purchase of health insurance cards will not only help patients access timely medical services but also ensure that all patients have the opportunity to enjoy health insurance benefits.
Therefore, patients and relatives who have a citizen identification card but have not purchased a health insurance card can contact the Social Work Department, regardless of the province where the patient is from.
