On April 4, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital held a signing ceremony to provide comprehensive professional support for the unit with 4 hospitals in the city, including People's Hospital 115, Tu Du Hospital, Children's Hospital 1, and Ho Chi Minh City Dentistry Hospital.
The signing ceremony is a stepping stone for Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital to prepare for the inauguration on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the complete Liberation of the South - National Reunification.
Doctor Dang Quoc Quan - Director of Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital said that before the new facility was built, the hospital only received about 1,200 outpatients per day.
After the new hospital came into operation, with a modern examination area, this number has increased to more than 1,800 patients per day.
With a current capacity of 18 operating rooms, when the machinery system is put into full operation, it will solve the need for medical examination and treatment for people, reducing the burden on the end line.
Also at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Chi Thuong - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that in the coming time, the hospital needs to prepare a team with enough capacity to use the most modern equipment, directly treating people instead of letting them lose their jobs at the end of the line as before.
Over time, the unit will become a truly modern, high-tech gateway regional general hospital, contributing to making the city a specialized health care center in the ASEAN region.
Every quarter, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital and supporting hospitals must report on new support products.
The newly built Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital has a scale of 12 floors, 2 basements, with a total floor area of 72,293 m2. The unit has invested in a central medical gas system, transported samples for the entire hospital and had a helicopter landing ground on the 12th floor to meet future air emergency requirements.
Currently, the unit has 20 clinical departments and 4 paraclinical departments, of which many specialized departments have been formed such as Cardiovascular Internal Medicine, Neurology, kidney - Blood Leakage, Neurology, Orthopedic Trauma, etc.
With the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the orientation of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital will develop towards becoming a complete general hospital - the main hospital at the Northwest gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, the formation of a modern stroke treatment center applying artificial intelligence, connecting in real time with People's Hospital 115 helps shorten the golden time for stroke treatment.
