The Department of maxillofacial Surgery (108 Central Military Hospital) received and treated patient N.T.A, born in 1994, who was hospitalized with severe jaw injury after an accident while taking photos at the Red River rock beach.
According to the patient, due to the slippery road surface, T.A slipped and fell, hitting his abdomen and face hard on the rock. The patient was transferred to 108 Central Military Hospital for emergency care and diagnosis of multiple injuries, including grade 3 liver rupture, grade 3 right kidney rupture, closed chest injury and lower jaw fracture.
At the hospital, doctors have conducted intensive treatment, preserving liver, kidney damage and closed chest injuries. At the same time, the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery has performedastasis and combined lower jaw bones with a spacer to restore chewing function and ensure aesthetic factors.
Dr. Le Diep Linh - Head of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery commented: Facial injuries due to household accidents are very common, especially during the rainy season. If not treated promptly, these damages can leave serious sequelae such as affecting chewing function, bad scars and facial deformities. Therefore, patients need to receive proper first aid and treatment at specialized facilities to limit unfortunate consequences.
Dr. Le Diep Linh added that anyone is at risk of causing a jaw injury, especially in daily activities such as walking, exercising or participating in traffic. Elderly people need to be more careful because of the high risk of tripping and falling, which can easily cause serious injuries, affecting aesthetics and health.
In addition, factors such as slipping and falling, animal bites or accidents caused by gas can also cause facial injuries. Therefore, people need to be careful in their daily lives to limit risks.
