Launched in August 2024, the first Green - Clean - Beautiful Medical Facilities Competition organized by the Ministry of Health under the direction of the Department of Prevention and Health and Life Newspaper, with the support of the vaccination system and Long Chau Pharmacy, has quickly received an unprecedentedly wide response from the entire health system, including the public and private sectors, from the central to local levels.
More than 2,000 medical facilities across 34 provinces and cities have registered to participate, creating a vibrant emulation movement in building a green, clean and beautiful medical facility environment, creating positive experiences for patients and their families while contributing to improving the working environment, medical staff being more attached and dedicated to their work.
The first Green - Clean - Beautiful Medical Facilities Competition lasts from August 2024 to the end of May 2025, demonstrating the determination of the entire industry in improving the quality of health services, a practical activity to concretize the policies and guidelines of the Party and State on protecting people's health in conjunction with environmental protection and sustainable development.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan emphasized: A "Green" medical facility is not just a few rows of trees and ornamental pots. That is the thinking of a sustainable healthcare ecosystem, where we proactively save energy, reduce plastic waste, and link medical examination and treatment activities with environmental protection. That is the profound message of "disease prevention is better than treatment" for the health of the whole community and the planet.
A Clean medical facility is not just a space without dirt. It is an absolutely safe treatment environment, minimizing the risk of cross-infection, protecting the health of both patients and doctors. And a "Beautiful" medical facility is not just an architectural aesthetic. That is the beauty of dedication, of a healing space, where physical pain is soothed and the spirit of the sick is peaceful and confident. That is the comprehensive care, the medicine of love.
We have witnessed inspiring models: As Phu Tho Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital with green "healing parks"; As Quang Ninh General Hospital with clean, scientific spaces, minimizing the risk of cross-infection; Or simply a row of straight green bamboo stalls at the commune health station in Ha Tinh, which is enough to warm the hearts and bring a sense of security to the people - the minister shared.
According to the leader of the Ministry of Health, it is appreciated that this movement not only has the participation of the public health system but also recognizes the enthusiastic participation of private health facilities.
This affirms the correct policy of the Party in Resolution No. 10 on private economic development, creating a combined strength, a healthy competition to jointly improve service quality, serving people better and better.
