On August 2, in Bac Ninh, the Ministry of Health coordinated with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association and the Department of Health of Bac Ninh province to organize the Launching Ceremony of the Smart Health for the Community program - an important milestone in the comprehensive transformation journey of the Vietnamese health sector towards taking people as the center, combining technology with grassroots healthcare.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan, Chairman of the National Medical Council, emphasized that the launching ceremony is not only for medical examination, equipment donation or health consultation, but also demonstrates a strategic shift in medical thinking: From treatment to health care; from passive to proactive; from disjointed to integrated, smart and towards each citizen.

Health care does not start from the hospital bed but from the community. When people are detected at risk early, consulted locally, and monitored regularly, the burden of hospitals and costs for their families will be truly reduced, while improving the quality of life for the whole society, the Deputy Minister stated.
Mr. Thuan emphasized the spirit of Resolution 57 of the Party on innovation, in which healthcare is a key area. In particular, the direction of General Secretary To Lam: "Astaying for each citizen to have a health check-up at least once a year" is a profound humanitarian orientation, reminding the health sector not to wait until there is an illness to take action.
Referring to the three major orientations of the industry today, the Deputy Minister of Health said that it will make periodic public health check-ups a national goal, helping to detect early, effectively prevent chronic diseases and non-communicable diseases right from the community.
Ensure fair and humane access to healthcare, modernize health stations, shorten regional gaps, so that all people can receive timely essential medical services.
Build a provincial-level smart health network with electronic health records, remote medical examination and treatment, artificial intelligence in disease diagnosis, warning and health management based on data.
According to Mr. Ha Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of the National Medical Council, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health), Chairman of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, the Smart Healthcare program in Bac Ninh is a key activity of the Comprehensive Healthcare Approach Program.
The goal of the program is to build an inclusive, fair, and modern healthcare system, promoting grassroots healthcare associated with digital transformation.
This is not only a professional activity, but a strong statement of the pioneering role of young doctors in the comprehensive innovation of the digital age healthcare sector, Mr. Duc emphasized.
