How does yoga help control nausea?

Yoga poses to help relieve nausea
Baby Pose
This gentle pose stretches the back and hips while calming the mind.
- Kneel on the floor, bring your big toes together and sit on your heels.
- Lean forward, resting your forehead on the floor. Stretch your arms out in front of you, palms facing down.
- Relax your forehead and let your hips fall back over your heels. Close your eyes and take deep, slow breaths.
- Hold the position for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Side lying position
This pose helps relax and relieve pelvic congestion.
- Lie on your back, place the soles of your feet together, and open your knees to the sides.
- Bring your heels as close to your pelvis as possible.
- Place a blanket or pillow under your hips for support.
- Place both hands along the sides, palms facing down.
- Close your eyes and take deep, slow breaths.
- Hold the position for 5 - 10 minutes.
Legs up the wall pose
This pose can improve blood circulation and reduce swelling.
- Find a wall, place a blanket or yoga mat against the wall.
- Sit leaning against a wall. Swing your legs up and place your hips close to the wall.
- Lower your back onto the blanket or mat, right leg straight against the wall.
- Place both hands along the sides, palms facing down.
- Close your eyes and take deep, slow breaths.
- Hold the position for 5 - 10 minutes.
