On October 17, the Hue City Department of Health informed that currently, the weather has changed to Fall - Winter along with the impact of climate change, increased exchanges, tourism and opening the new school year, creating favorable conditions for many agents causing infectious diseases to arise and spread, especially respiratory diseases and gastrointestinal diseases. Of which, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the main cause of acute respiratory infections, especially dangerous for infants and children under 6 months old due to weak immune systems.
RSV is transmitted through drop shot when the patient coughs, sneezes, talks close to or through surfaces such as toys, door handles, scarves, clothes, etc. The virus can last for hours and can easily be transmitted to children if they touch it and put their hands on their eyes, nose, or mouth.
Healthy adults can carry the virus without symptoms, but there is still the possibility of infecting children.
According to the Hue City Department of Health, there is currently no effective RSV vaccine. Therefore, it is necessary to strictly implement preventive measures: Do not smell, kiss children; sick people limit contact with children; do not let smokers near children; wash their hands regularly and keep the living environment hygienic.
