On the evening of October 17, the Hue City People's Council elected Mr. Phan Thien Dinh - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee to hold the position of Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, replacing his predecessor, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - who was recently appointed by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee.
Mr. Phan Thien Dinh (born on December 10, 1971, from Hue City) has a Master's degree in Public Administration Management, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Law; and a Senior Political Theory qualification.
Before being elected Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, Mr. Phan Thien Dinh held many important positions in the locality such as:
Before August 2004: Inspector; Deputy Head of the Department and then Head of the Economic Inspectorate - Inspectorate of Thua Thien - Hue Province.
August 2004 - August 2013: Chief Inspector of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien - Hue province
August 2013 - October 2015: Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien - Hue province
October 2015 - May 2016: Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien - Hue province
June 2016 - December 2018: Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien - Hue province
December 2018 - November 2020: Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien - Hue Provincial People's Committee
