On the afternoon of June 14, Sinh Ton Island infirmary (under Brigade 146, Naval Region 4) received emergency care from fisherman Pham Van Minh (born in 1985, from Binh Minh commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province), a crew member of fishing boat QN 95489 TS owned by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thanh.
Earlier, at around 6am the same day, while working on the ship, Mr. Minh unfortunately slipped and fell, his knee had to hit the ship's floor hard, causing severe pain and unable to stand up. After receiving initial first aid, Mr. Minh was transferred to the island at 2:00 p.m. the same day.
Through examination and X-ray, doctors at the infirmary determined: broken right banh tet bones, large 3cm deflections, and a large amount of blood in the knee joint. This is a serious injury that requires early surgical intervention to avoid complications.
Immediately afterwards, the medical team on the island performed surgery, stocked the epidemic, fixed it with a powderep and continued to monitor and treat it. The patient's health is now stable.
From the beginning of 2025 to now, the Sinh Ton island military medical force has received and treated 12 fishermen in distress at sea, including 3 serious cases that had to be transferred to another route.
The rescue of fishermen not only demonstrates the spirit of "one will with the people" but also contributes to maintaining sovereignty and peace at sea and supporting fishermen to feel secure to go offshore and stick to the sea.
