On June 8, military medicine on Truong Sa island was given timely treatment to fisherman Tran Cong Nhanh (born in 1975, from Binh Minh commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province), working on fishing boat QNa 94952 TS.
Previously, while working on the ship, Mr. Nhanh had symptoms of severe pain in the right pelvic area and high fever.
Realizing the increasingly serious condition, the crew members took him to the fishing boat island for first aid.
The patient was then transferred to Truong Sa Island late on June 7 in a state of severe abdominal pain, bloating, and signs of severe infection.
As soon as the patient was admitted, the Truong Sa island military doctor urgently examined, performed the necessary tests and consulted online with Military Hospital 175 (HCMC).
Through professional assessment, the patient was diagnosed with acute intestinal inflammation, at risk of peritoneal inflammation complications - a dangerous condition that can threaten life if not treated promptly.
That same night, the military surgical team performed an epidemic, used antibiotics and performed surgery to remove the excess intestines of the fishermen Nhanh. The surgery was successful, leaving no complications.
By the morning of June 8, Mr. Nhanh's health had stabilized and the surgical wound was progressing well. The island's military continues to monitor post-operative surgery and prepare treatment plans if there are unusual developments.
The timely organization of surgeries in special medical conditions on Truong Sa island once again affirms the professional capacity and readiness to be on duty and support fishermen of the military medical force on Truong Sa archipelago.
This is a solid support for fishermen to confidently go out to sea, contributing to protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
