On September 26, the Vaccination Service Department - Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Hue City said that the unit had just received a 19-month-old girl (residing in Huong Thuy Ward, Hue City) bitten by a dog with many complicated wounds on the head, face and neck.
Before that, while playing on the street, the child was suddenly attacked by a neighbor's dog. Immediately afterwards, the victim was taken to Hue Central Hospital by his family for emergency treatment.
Due to the seriousness of the wound and its location in the danger zone, the pediatric patient underwent surgery to remove, clean and suture the wound.
The child was then transferred to the CDC of Hue City for rabies serum and rabies vaccine vaccination and was advised on a full vaccination regimen according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health.
Currently, the child patient is still being monitored and treated at the hospital; she is still in a state of panic.
According to the Hue City CDC, on September 25 alone, the center has vaccinated 24 cases of rabies vaccine against dog and cat bites, of which 5 cases were indicated for new rabies serum vaccination.
