Faced with the risk of disease outbreaks during the rainy season and during the summer tourist season, the Ministry of Health has just sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of provinces and cities requesting the synchronous implementation of measures to prevent and control infectious diseases, especially dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease and COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health warned that in the world, the situation of infectious diseases is still complicated, many countries have recorded an increase in the number of cases of diseases such as dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, COVID-19, etc. In the country, although the situation is basically controlled, these infectious diseases have begun to increase locally in some localities. In particular, since the beginning of May, many areas have experienced heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, flash floods and landslides - factors that can cause environmental pollution, creating conditions for epidemics to break out.
In the above context, the Ministry of Health recommends that localities proactively deploy epidemic prevention work.
Comprehensive instructions from authorities at all levels: Organize a peak campaign to prevent and control the epidemic in June - July 2025; mobilize people to kill mosquito larvae, ticks, sleep on a dengue fever screen; wash their hands regularly with soap to prevent hand, foot and mouth disease; use masks, limit crowded places to prevent COVID-19; clean the environment immediately after storms to prevent diseases such as eye pain, diarrhea, welding...
Departments of Health carry out communication; strengthen disease monitoring, especially in disadvantaged and ethnic minority areas; coordinate preventive and treatment; ensure timely treatment, limit death; review areas at risk of natural disasters and proactively respond.
Coordinate with relevant sectors: The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and media agencies need to promote diverse propaganda so that people raise awareness of epidemic prevention. The Department of Education and Training needs to proactively prevent epidemics in schools, especially for hand, foot and mouth disease in young children, equip themselves with adequate hand washing equipment, clean the classroom, detect cases early and notify health agencies.
Ensuring resources: The Department of Finance needs to promptly provide and supplement funding for epidemic prevention. Localities prepare human resources, medicine, chemicals, and equipment, especially in flooded areas; organize mobile teams to respond quickly, and deploy at high-risk points.
Strengthen inspection and supervision: Organize interdisciplinary inspection teams to supervise the implementation of instructions from the Ministry of Health and People's Committees of provinces and cities, ensuring effective prevention of infectious diseases during the rainy season and peak tourism season this summer.
