Prime Minister thanks overseas Vietnamese in Malaysia for their national love and compatriotism

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully thanked the Vietnamese people in Malaysia for always showing "national love and compatriotism".

According to VNA, during the official visit to Malaysia and attending the 46th ASEAN Summit and related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, on the morning of May 25, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife met with officials and staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Dinh Ngoc Linh, there are currently nearly 40,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Malaysia, mainly concentrated in the western peninsula. The Vietnamese community is basically united, diligent in labor, complies with the law, integrates well and always maintains a patriotic spirit, towards the homeland.

Many people have established businesses and restaurants, created jobs, actively contributed to the local economy and society and promoted bilateral relations.

Speaking at the meeting, representatives of the Vietnamese community and businesses expressed their gratitude for the attention of the Party, State and Government; highly appreciated the favorable policies in recent times; wished for more connections between overseas Vietnamese and domestic Vietnamese; and suggested that Vietnam coordinate with Malaysia to create conditions for overseas Vietnamese to do business, study and live more conveniently.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, on behalf of the Party, State leaders and General Secretary To Lam, sent his condolences and best wishes to the people; thanked the Vietnamese community in Malaysia for their contributions and affection for their homeland and country.

The Prime Minister highly appreciated the associations and business organizations of Vietnamese people in Malaysia for supporting and protecting the legitimate rights of the people and organizing many practical activities.

Informing about bilateral relations, the Prime Minister said that after more than 50 years, the Vietnam - Malaysia relationship has increasingly developed comprehensively, especially since the two countries established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Recent high-level meetings demonstrate political trust and pave the way for extensive cooperation in all fields.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the Vietnamese community needs to take advantage of opportunities and promote its bridging role to contribute to promoting bilateral relations.

Sharing about the country's situation, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam's position is increasingly affirmed in the international arena. The Party, State and Government are focusing on implementing many tasks and solutions to achieve growth of 8% or more in 2025 and double digits in the following years; preparing for Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th Congress.

The Party, State and Government always consider the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part, an important resource of the nation; create conditions for people to stabilize their lives, integrate into the host country, and contribute to the country.

The Prime Minister commended the efforts of the Embassy staff, hoping that people, wherever they are, will always unite, stand side by side, nurture the spirit of compatriots in their souls, and foster the love of the Fatherland in their hearts.

The Prime Minister requested that competent authorities continue to support, listen and resolve legitimate proposals of overseas Vietnamese; wished the Vietnamese community in Malaysia sustainable development, towards the future.
