On May 25, the Minister of Construction issued a telegram on the urgent completion and overcoming of shortcomings in the operation and exploitation of the T3 Passenger Terminal - Tan Son Nhat International Airport project.
The dispatch clearly stated that recently, there have been some shortcomings arising in the operation and use of the T3 terminal project, Tan Son Nhat airport. This problem causes loss of aesthetics, affects the experience of passengers and causes public opinion.
To thoroughly overcome the above problems and avoid affecting the safety of the project, the Ministry of Construction requests Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV) to urgently review and overcome the shortcomings that have occurred in the past.
In particular, special attention should be paid to completely handling the situation of rainwater leaking from the glass roof to the floor in the check-in hall and waiting room; have a plan and plan to ensure safe operation during the rainy and stormy season.
Organize the direction of contractors, coordinate with owners, managers and users of the project to review the overall project, promptly detect any problems that may arise during the exploitation and use of the project to take preventive measures to avoid similar situations, ensure the function and safety of the project.
Urgently complete unfinished work, especially the stone paving items in the station area; the completion process must absolutely not affect the ability to exploit and operate the station safely.
Develop a maintenance plan for works, organize maintenance of works, monitor works during exploitation and use according to the provisions of law.
The Minister also requested contractors participating in the construction of the project to increase human resources, equipment and coordinate with investors to urgently and fully implement the contents of this Official Dispatch.
Implement the construction warranty according to regulations. Be responsible to the Investor and before the law if an incident occurs that affects the quality and safety of the project.
The Minister requested Tan Son Nhat International Airport to strengthen inspection and supervision of exploitation activities at Terminal T3, promptly report to competent authorities on issues arising during the exploitation and use of the project for timely handling.
Coordinate with competent authorities and take measures to ensure aviation security and safety during operation and exploitation.
Tan Son Nhat T3 Terminal has a total investment of more than VND 11,000 billion, started construction at the end of 2022 and inaugurated on April 19, 2025, 2 months ahead of schedule. The terminal has a designed capacity of 20 million passengers/year and is expected to reduce the pressure on Terminal T1, which has been overloaded for many years.
