On July 14, the Department of Health of Dak Lak province informed that in order to create a breakthrough in the development of human resources in the health sector, the unit is developing a Project on developing high-quality health human resources in Dak Lak province to 2030, with orientation to 2045.
The project focuses on many key groups of solutions, in which priority is given to attracting high-quality doctors, experts and medical personnel to work in the province; and at the same time strengthening training and fostering management staff, specialist doctors and human resources in high-tech fields.
In addition, the project aims to develop a team of leading experts, linking training with actual usage needs and professional development planning of the locality.
The province will also study mechanisms to support postgraduate training, specialized training, and training according to usage addresses; encourage medical staff to improve their professional qualifications, promote scientific research and receive and transfer modern medical techniques.
Mr. Nay Phi La - Director of Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health said that one of the key contents of the Project is to improve the quality of grassroots health human resources, meeting the requirements of implementing a two-level local government model, and at the same time improving the effectiveness of primary health care for people.
According to Mr. Phi La, the development of the Project is expected to contribute to solving the shortage of high-quality medical personnel, especially in specialized departments and grassroots levels, creating a foundation to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, gradually meeting the increasing healthcare needs of the people.
Currently, the Department of Health is seeking comments from departments, branches, localities and related units to complete the Project before submitting it to the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval according to regulations.
The province's health system currently includes 14 hospitals, 8 provincial-level centers, 24 regional health centers and 102 commune and ward health stations, basically covering the entire area.
However, grassroots healthcare human resources are still lacking and unevenly distributed. The whole province currently has 257 doctors working at health stations, while 85/102 health stations have not ensured sufficient number of doctors according to the orientation of 4 doctors/station.
In addition, there is a shortage of high-quality human resources, especially a team of specialized doctors and leading experts in high-tech fields.
