The Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance has just issued Official Dispatch No. 1305-CV/DU on implementing the Plan to propagate the organization of periodic health check-ups and free screening for people.
Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance requests Party committees and directly affiliated Party organizations to strengthen propaganda, thoroughly grasp and organize the implementation of the Party and State's guidelines on protecting, caring for and improving people's health according to Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW, Directive No. 17/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister and related documents.
One of the key contents is to strongly propagate the shift from the thinking of "examination and treatment" to proactively "preventing diseases", encouraging people to have periodic health check-ups and screenings to detect diseases early, especially non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer.
Notably, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance emphasized the policy that from 2026, people will have periodic health check-ups or free screenings at least once a year and will be issued an Electronic Health Record to manage health according to the life cycle.
This is expected to be a solution to help detect diseases early, reduce treatment costs, reduce the financial burden on people, and improve the quality of life and the number of years of healthy life.
The official dispatch also requests to strengthen propaganda about the rights and responsibilities of people in actively participating in periodic health check-ups, using and updating Electronic Health Records on the VNeID application.
For units advising on financial mechanisms, state budget, social insurance policies, and health insurance, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance requests to focus on completing mechanisms and policies and ensuring resources to serve periodic health check-ups and free screening check-ups according to regulations.
In addition, agencies and units in the industry need to coordinate with the Ministry of Health and relevant agencies to effectively implement the program; at the same time, organize annual periodic health check-ups for officials and employees, allocate legal funds to serve health care and promote propaganda about the benefits of periodic health check-ups.
The Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance also requested units to proactively grasp public opinion, strengthen the provision of official information, and promptly fight against false information related to the policy of free health check-ups and policies in the health sector.
