The Dien Bien Department of Health has just issued 2 documents on handling the Cefactum batch of Phuong Dong Pharmaceutical Company; handling the traditional medicine of red-legged mustard greens violating level 2 quality.
The Cefactum drug batch (hard capillary, registration number VD-30475-18, batch number 339401, production date of November 27, 2023, expiration date of November 27, 2026) is produced by Phuong Dong Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company. The drug does not meet the quality of the solstice index according to the basic standards and current regulations.
In addition, the shipment of traditional medicine of red-cold goji berries violated the law and was manufactured by Vietnam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (located in Zone 8, Phu Ninh Commune, Phu Tho Province) with registration number VCT-00013-20, shipment number 1020525, production date May 5, 2025, validity date May 5, 2027.
Accordingly, the drug batch did not meet the quality standards for level 2 violations ( did not meet the quality standards for the combined Anthraquinon dosage target).
To protect people's health, the People's Committees of communes/wards in the province have requested pharmaceutical businesses, health stations and related units to implement measures to recall and handle violating products.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang - Vice Chairman of Muong Ang Commune People's Committee, Dien Bien Province, implementing the official dispatch of the Department of Health, the commune government has directed businesses in the area to review and immediately stop trading, distributing and using the 2 drug lots.
At the same time, separate the products of the batch of drugs that are not of good quality and have warning labels "Not for sale/not for use".
In addition, do not continue to import, distribute or display drugs in the batch that has been warned of quality. Coordinate the recovery (if there are distributed goods) and handle according to the instructions of the competent authority.
The leader of Muong Ang commune added that he has assigned the Commune Health Station to be responsible for guiding businesses in the process of recovering and processing products according to regulations.
Along with that, the Commune General Service Center has increased propaganda on the loudspeaker system so that people can grasp information, identify the correct product and not buy, sell, or use recalled drug lots.
The authorities also recommend that consumers carefully check the medicinal products they have purchased. If you are found to own the drugs with information that matches the recall notice, you should immediately stop using them and contact the nearest pharmacy or medical facility for instructions on how to handle them.
Previously, the Department of Industry and Trade of Dien Bien issued a peak plan to combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.
In which, the subjects of inspection are organizations and individuals operating in the production, trading and traditional services and in the e-commerce environment in Dien Bien province.
Focus on organizations and individuals producing and trading medicine, milk, food and health protection foods.
The peak plan will be implemented from May 22 to June 15. And throughout the period from June 16 to the end of 2025, when there are instructions from superiors, consumer feedback or recommendations and proposals from inspection team members.
