When the hospital leaders burst into tears
A video clip was circulated on social media recording the moment Mr. Nguyen Dang Giap - Director of the Central Highlands General Hospital (Dak Lak) burst into tears when talking about the case of 255 patients being denied dialysis stones, causing a stir in public opinion.
Instead of listening and understanding, social networks have appeared many comments full of photos: Crab tears, there are scripts... There are even comments that, when eating money, do you cry?...
Sharing with the press, Mr. Giap affirmed that he cried because he was heartbroken, not because he was afraid of responsibility.
According to Mr. Giap, his pain is witnessing the efforts of hundreds of people being overshadowed by the violations of a few individuals.
That is the concern of a person who has been involved in a medical career, seeing a unit under his leadership make serious mistakes.
Strictly handle, do not let worms spoil the pot of noodles
The violation at the Central Highlands General Hospital is considered serious. The Standing Committee of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee has assigned the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee to inspect when there are signs of violations against the Standing Committee of the Hospital Party Committee.
At the same time, the Provincial Police Party Committee was directed to continue investigating and handling the case strictly, "no forbidden areas, no exceptions", in accordance with legal regulations.
Previously, in an interview with the press, Mr. Nguyen Dang Giap frankly admitted his responsibility and hoped that the authorities would handle it strictly.
However, Mr. Giap also strongly suggested recognizing fairness, so as not to deny the efforts of the medical team that is day and night dedicated to the patients.
He raised the issue: Can we question the responsibility for management, can we request handling of violations, but should we completely deny the dedication of hundreds of other doctors?
In the context of exciting public opinion, social networks are a place to share but also easy to distort the truth. Tears - real or fake - can be compared to a play. Even the opening lines - even heart-stopping - are easily grouped together as actors.
Meanwhile, many other views say that if a leader falls into tears because of the collapse of his passion for life but is still being discouraged, then what do we expect from the leaders? An insensitive face, an awkward apology, or a cold silence?
Therefore, many people believe that the case needs to be handled thoroughly and strictly to restore degraded medical ethics among a few medical staff and doctors. Therefore, do not let the worms make betel in the pot of soup.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, through inspections by the Dak Lak Department of Health and the Central Highlands General Hospital, 480 patients were discovered to have surgery to remove stones while the stone cutting machine was broken.
Of which, 255 patients had surgery using other methods but were recorded to have used stone-carving machines.
The hospital has disciplined 4 individuals including: Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoang (former Head of the Department of Surgery - Nephrology) was disciplined with a Warning and did not complete the process of reappointment to the position.
Mr. Le Xuan Vinh (Deputy Head of the Department of Surgery - Nephrology), Bui Ngoc Duc (Head of the Department of Surgery - Anesthesia and Resuscitation) and Ms. Tran Thi Kim Oanh (former Head Nurses of the Department of Surgery - Nephrology) were all disciplined with a Reprimand.
