On August 24, the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health announced that it had issued a plan to organize the 2026 Dengue hemorrhagic fever prevention and control peak campaign, deployed from August to December throughout the province.
The goal of the campaign is that 100% of communes and wards organize environmental sanitation, kill larvae and pupae; 100% of localities with outbreaks or high-risk groups must actively spray chemicals and thoroughly handle outbreaks.
According to statistics from the Gia Lai Provincial Center for Disease Control, from August 12-18, the whole province recorded an additional 397 cases of dengue fever, raising the total number of cases from the beginning of the year to 4,947 cases. Among them, 1 person has died.
Since the beginning of the year, Gia Lai has recorded 291 dengue fever outbreaks, of which 89 outbreaks are still existing in many communes and wards.
Localities such as Thong Nhat, Chu Pah, An Phu, Bien Ho, Dak Doa, Pleiku, Dien Hong are continuously in the group with a high number of dengue fever cases.
