8 embryo transfers – 8 bets with hope
Married in 2017, Ms. Ngo (born 1990) and Mr. Nho (born 1987) in Ninh Binh, entered married life with many difficulties. The couple works as workers, low income, life is only enough to cover daily living expenses. But more than all worries about making a living, the thing that worries them the most is still the desire to have a child.
The early years of marriage passed in waiting. Good news has not yet come, while around, greetings and discussions are increasing, and mental pressure is increasing.
The couple decided to go for an examination at Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital, starting a journey of infertility treatment with the support of modern medicine. The examination results showed that Mr. Nho had weak sperm, one of the reasons why natural pregnancy is difficult.
At that time, the doctor advised them that they could continue to monitor and try to conceive naturally for a while longer. However, after many years of waiting, the situation still did not improve much.
Difficult economic conditions made them struggle with the decision to perform in vitro fertilization. For a low-income worker family, each treatment cycle is a heavy financial burden. The couple has tried every way, but all efforts have not yielded the expected results.
By 2022, when they had saved up a part of the expenses and borrowed more from relatives and friends, their first IVF journey officially began. "At that time, I just thought, even if I have a debt, I have to try, because this is an opportunity to have children," Ms. Ngo recounted.
In June 2022, the life of the couple was associated with trips to Hanoi, ultrasounds, tests and waiting for embryo transfer results.
From 2022–2023, Ms. Ngo went through 6 consecutive embryo transfers. There were times when she got pregnant but could not keep it, there were times when the fetus was biochemical, and there were times when it was unsuccessful. Each embryo transfer was a time when hope was ignited, then extinguished.
Sweet fruit comes to the resilient mother
In parallel with that, Ms. Ngo had to undergo surgical interventions such as: Uterine fallopian tube fluid retention, polyp removal, uterine septum removal. Those surgeries were partly a big mental challenge for a woman who wanted a child every day.
After many failures, end of embryos, treatment costs became a heavy burden. Debts and psychological pressure became increasingly great, and at times the couple thought about stopping their journey to find their child.
At that moment, the Golden Week program opened up a new opportunity. They are one of the 10 lucky families to receive a 100% free IVF support package in 2024. This is not only financial support, but also spiritual encouragement for them to continue to nurture hope.

In July 2024, their second IVF journey officially began. In September 2024, the 7th embryo transfer brought about pregnancy results, making the whole family burst into tears. However, that joy only lasted until the 7th week when the fetus stopped developing. The pain once again tested the will of the couple.
Not giving up, in March 2025, Ms. Ngo entered the 8th embryo transfer. This time, the miracle stayed. Her pregnancy also encountered many difficulties due to bleeding, gestational diabetes and high risk of pre-eclampsia. But everything gradually stabilized, each ultrasound milestone, each fetal heartbeat sounded, and they held their breath and burst into happiness.
In November 2025, a healthy little daughter was born, closing a nearly decade journey with a happy ending.

After 8 years of waiting, Ms. Ngo and Mr. Nho's journey to find their child has closed with a happy ending. But for them, the journey of becoming parents has just begun.
When spring knocks on every roof, this Tet, that small family will gather together in complete happiness.
According to representatives of Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital, in order to support couples facing difficulties on their journey to find children, the hospital is implementing the "Happiness Welcomes Spring 2026" program to support the cost of in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment.
The program is implemented in the period from January 8th to March 8th, 2026, applicable to all patients undergoing oophoresis or oophoresis.
Accordingly, patients are supported 50% of the technical cost of in vitro fertilization, one of the important items of the IVF process.
The hospital also maintains professional activities during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, suitable to the actual treatment needs of patients, to ensure that the treatment journey is not interrupted.
