Regarding the information that some students of Binh Quoi Tay Elementary School were hospitalized, at noon on April 9, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety - said that Binh Quoi Ward Health Station and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety are coordinating to handle the incident.
According to Ms. Lan, 41/906 students of the school showed symptoms of digestive disorders and went for examination, of which 3 cases had to be hospitalized.
Due to the symptoms appearing from the morning of the same day, functional agencies have not yet been able to determine the cause, especially when most students eat breakfast at home.
According to a representative of Binh Quoi Ward People's Committee, on April 8, some students of Binh Quoi Tay Elementary School came to the hospital for health check-ups and were allowed by doctors to go home to rest, while 2 students are being monitored at the hospital. Currently, the ward and the school, together with functional agencies, are investigating and clarifying the cause of the incident.
Previously, on April 8, information spread on social networks that many students of Binh Quoi Tay Elementary School had symptoms of fever, vomiting, including some cases being hospitalized.
